Me and my interpreter

This is my buddy Aslam. He is my "terp" as they are called for short. Aslam's a good guy and is by my side most of the time.

  1. He looks like a nice guy, I'm glad you're working with good people. Did he grow up and go to school locally? How did he get involved with NMAA?

  2. He grew up just outside of Kabul and went to school locally. He studied English at Kabul University and then somehow got connected with a interpreter contractor company. His English is very good--not only do I have him interpret at meetings and such, but he translates briefings and documents that I write into Dari to give to the NMAA leadership...a valuable guy to have around!
